Just Kidding Goat Mineral may be fed free choice. A covered feeder is recommended if fed free choice. Consumption will vary depending on the ration fed and individual and flock differences. Typical consumption is .25-.50 oz per head per day for goats. If animals overeat, provide supplemental salt separately. Fresh, clean water must always be available. If animals are mineral-deficient, it is a wise practice to limit mineral for the first week to the recommended amount, and to ensure adequate feeder space to minimize overconsumption by dominant animals.
