Layer: Union Point Classic Whole Grains with Cold-Pressed Pellets (18% Protein)

from $23.75

HENS, DUCKS, QUAIL
From One Month Before Laying - Lifelong

This is the feed that established Union Point as the go-to for the highest quality ingredients and the smartest poultry feed formulations. We named this formula the Union Point Classic because of its leading role in our small business, and also because it makes a perfect union of our high-protein cold-pressed pellets with pumpkin seed and whole grains, seeds and peas that are all sourced from the Pacific Northwest.

The combination of pellets and the whole ingredients we use in our stand-alone scratch unite in a nutritionally superior, low-waste, no-dust combination. Union Point Classic satisfies the nutritional needs of the birds and pleases both humans (it’s so pretty!) and the hens’ appetite for fun, adventure, and satisfying food.

  • Always non-GMO, soy-free and corn-free.

  • 18% protein for better nutrition — all contained in the pellets for zero waste!

  • Cold-pressed pellets like no others!

  • Ingredients are ground and formed at low temperatures so all the nutrients and taste are in there!

  • Pellets are firm with less dust and crumbling than common pellets.

  • Your flock is sure to get all the good micros we include in our feed, including marigold, paprika and vitamins!

  • Grains and seeds are basted with high Omega 3 vegetable oil.

  • All ingredients are just like a bird would might find if foraging in the wild: Northwest grown wheat, flax seed, triticale, green, yellow and maple peas, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, oats, milo, millet, sorghum and other native seeds.

  • Our feed delivers in units of 8.75 lb. (net weight) boxes that are easy to manage with an easy-pour spout. They are PFAs-free and fully recyclable.

  • This is a complete and balanced ration. Provide plenty of fresh, clean water. Introduce new feeds gradually. Do not feed old, moldy or insect-infested feeds. Large flakes of oyster shell should always be available.

  • About shelf life: Common practice is to consume feed within six months of purchase. But that disregards how old the feed might be when you purchase it. Some mills make feed months in advance. The fact is, nutrition diminishes over time, to the point that by six months vitamins and benefits are half gone. The only way to be sure that your animals are getting what’s described in the nutritional analysis is by buying fresh-made feed. (Ours is the freshest available because we’re the mill and your order comes straight to us.)

We also urge you to only buy what you’ll use in a few months, at maximum. Remember to factor in reduced consumption during the winter or if your flock size changes.

Customer Testimonials

Chicken Testimonial Blog

“I didn’t really expect a difference in the chicks I hatched from my breeder birds. These guys are awesome. They have little Buddha bellies and the densest fluffy down I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been raising birds a long time. They are so vigorous. They took off faster than any chicks I’ve ever raised and they have me spoiled for any other feed.” — Julie

“I love it! There is no dust at all and the animals are crazy over it.” — Dick

“Barre is our cuckoo bearded silkie hen. Barre was hatched while we were still in North Carolina. She is such nice quality, both temperament and coloring. She got her own custom-built travel cage, and moved across the country. A friend gave me some Union Point starter for chicks. I was stunned, really, at how much LESS Union Point feed they ate. Less in, less out, much less smell. I’m a convert now. Only Union Point for the birds.” – Jane

“My birds placed in Champion’s Row at the national show again. I wasn’t really surprised. They have been there consistently since I started feeding this feed. I’d be surprised if they didn’t. They are pretty nice birds so that helps too.” – Sher

“I look at my birds every day and am amazed at them. They are beautiful, in immaculate condition. Their feathers are incredible. That’s all I have done differently, and my old feed was pretty good.” – Tracey

“I tried another feed that was also soy and corn free, non-GMO, but a lot cheaper. My birds got diarrhea and what a mess I had in the coop. As soon as they got back on your feed they were fine. I won’t be doing that again!” — Edna
